Division E: Artist Resin Class ot Traditional: I chose The Overall Grand Champion due to the very correct stock horse conformation and the incredible paint job. This red roan sabino was painted by Diane Capwell and if your ever seen one in person you know the amazing job she does with little details. This photo clearly shows the little bands in the braids, kissy spots around the eye, individual roan hairs and red dun corn marks. The Reserve horse is a Godiva resin painted and haired by Faye Cohen. Not only the photo show the incredilbe hairing that Faye is known for but the hazel topaz eyes that many buckskin colored horses have. The mold fits very well as a refined and typy Morgan mare. My Honorable Mentions go to WBP Flash in the Pants a dappled chestnut tobiano miniature Howard Huge resin sculpted and painted by Chris Jolly. Also Mesmeric dappled buckskin warmblood gelding. This division was larger than last year's but still smaller than other divisions. What was shown was very deep in quality for the sculpting, customizing, and photography. You should all be very proud of your lovely collection of Artist Resins.

Division F: OF Peter Stone Division: Numbers are up for this division from last year. I named five Honorable Mentions that were very close to being picked for Grand or Reserve Overall. The horses that ended in the top five were chosen for the best angle that displayed deep hips, long neck with that "just sweated look", eyes with expression and good facial detail. On the ISH that stated a stallion gender I looked for the angle that gave the cheek a wider depth. Many ISH owners give that mold a mature age over 6 and if it is a stock horse breed assignment the mold is just to light in balance and weight to be a mature stallion. Especially the short maned or roached mold which gives a false width of the neck in a photo. My Grand Champion this year goes to the very correct Rio Rondo mold filly in a black with hip blanket. It's expressive eye is accented by a well displayed scelera. The silver halter has cheek pieces just wide enough to show off a feminine head. The black hooves seems to help hide the "way too small hooves" this mold has. If it were alive when this mold would mature it would have a less than a double 00 shoe. Just stop and compare the body and bone structure of knees and hocks to see what I mean. In judge's symposiums we are taught to judge a foal for it's future assets not just what it shows today. My Reserve goes to the Tennessee Walking Horse mold in bay. The eye detail is caught on film and the mold has great shading.
